The "We Three Kings" sang at our Bogalusa High School senior party in 1968. I got to meet Doug and then we were in music classes together at Louisiana College. His winning smile was a trademark. I thank God for his influence on me as a new believer and a younger student at LC.

I am sorry to learn of your family loss. The passing of a love one is painful. You have my deepest sympathy. I'd like to share scripture that may bring comfort and endurance. 1Thes 4:13, 14 ... reads... Moreover brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who are sleeping in death, so that you may not sorrow as the rest do who have no hope. For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus. John 11:25 lets us know this ... Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life. Daniel 2:11 ... also lets us know ... And many of those asleep in the dust of the earth will wake up, some to everlasting life ....... John 6:40 ... tells us why these words are faithful and true ... For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life and I will resurrect him on the last day, I sincerely want these scriptures to bring comfort and endurance. 1
