I find it hard to put into words what a great friend Roy was to me. I grew up knowing Roy and treasured the kind of person that he was. I was in a girl’s club at Edison called Sorrota, and we unanimously voted for Roy to be our “Honey”. It was an honor to have him as part of our group and none of us will ever forget how kind he was. And as an adult he never wavered in that kindness! So, Sharon, Michelle and family, I grieve with you and I thank you for sharing him with us. A wonderful man has left all of us with many lasting memories.

I am so sorry for your loss and the loss of another great Red Raider. Roy and I were team mates on the 61 football team. We were offensive linemen and lined up side by side. We also had many other school activities we participated in together. He was truly a great person and will be missed.,

Dear Sharon and Michelle, Bob and I are so saddened by Roy's death. He was such a wonderful and kind person and the consummate storyteller. Of course, Roy and Bob go back to elementary school so they have many memories. Even though Roy came into my life later after my marriage to Bob I felt so privileged to have known him. Visiting with us a few years ago with Pat and Ronnie was one of the highlights. I know how much he loved his family and I know you will cherish your memories. You are certainly in our thoughts at this difficult time. Peace and love to you both.

Roy was my good friend at Edison. I fondly remember his fantastic personality and kind manner. We spent many Saturdays together raising money for Edison (dont remember what the cause was!) in a grocery store parking lot, Roy looking devilishly handsome in his football jersey and getting more money than the rest of us. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My condolences to all his family.

Sharon, Michelle & family, my deepest heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, and, Marie, of your dear brother. Except for this sad time, I cannot think of another person of whom just the mere thought would bring an immediate smile to my face, and a glow to my heart. Roy Jones was, truly, "Friend" personified, and I feel blessed to be among his special circle of friends who were young together once, and who reconnected as adults, thus allowing us to age together and create new memories to add to the old. A bit lonelier here now on earth, but lucky Heaven is one soul more beautiful. With heartfelt sympathy, and great sincerity, Carla
