After a hard fought battle, Wayne Jude Lemoine of Baton Rouge passed away on October 5, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake hospital at the age of 70. Wayne was born June 15, 1950, in Moureauville, LA, to Dolan and Doris Lemoine. He grew up in a loving family with two brothers, Fredrick and Craven, and a sister Doleen. As a child, Wayne enjoyed playing with cousins and listening to the LSU Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals on the radio. He attended University of Southwest Louisiana for two years, and then moved to Baton Rouge where he met his soulmate, Grace. They were married on April 8th, 1972, and had two children. Wayne worked as an insurance salesman for many years, and after retiring he opened his own sporting goods store. Wayne enjoyed living life to the fullest, coaching, storytelling, making people laugh, and being with family. He truly enjoyed coaching youth athletics and was athletic director at St. Jude the Apostle School from 1992 – 2007, although his greatest accomplishment in life was coaching, mentoring, and being a Paw Paw to his four grandsons: Christopher Jude Lott, Caleb Michael Lott, Dax Christian Lemoine, and Connor Jude Lemoine. Wayne is survived by his wife, Grace Lemoine; children, Jacklyn and husband Robert, and son, Spencer; four grandsons; sister, Doleen Lemoine, brother, Craven Lemoine and wife Jan, and his sister-in-law, Paula Lemoine; and many nieces and nephews.
