High School/>/>, he died Sunday morning, Oct. 8, 2006/>, in Baton Rouge/>/>. He was 18 and a resident of Baton Rouge/>/>for 13 years. Michael was born Aug. 15, 1988/>, inFort Walton Beach/>, Fla./>/>, brought into this world by his own father’s hands. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 6 p.m./>to 9 p.m./>, with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m./>Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m./>until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m./>, with the Rev. Michael J. Moroney, celebrant. Graveside service at 2 p.m./>Thursday at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans/>/>. Michael is survived by his parents, Glenn M. Gomes, M.D., and Sallye E. Gomes; sister, Nyssa E. Gomes; brother, Jason R. Gomes; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Patricia Gomes; uncles, Eugene J. Gomes III and wife Ginger, Minneapolis, and Brian D. Gomes, Baton Rouge; cousins, Evan Gomes and wife Amy, New Orleans, and Emily Ostlund and husband Eric, and Austin Gomes, all of Minneapolis; second cousin, Van M. Barnhill, Florien, and his children, Vanessa and Michael Van Barnhill; and great-aunt, Pauline Stringer. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pearl O. and Harold V. Andersen; and second cousin, Shirley Jane Barnhill. Family members and close friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his fellow senior members of theCatholic/>
High School/>/>cross-country and track team. Michael was a member ofSt. Thomas/>
