A superintendent with 7-Up Bottling Co. with 39 years of service, Linas Joseph Sanchez Sr. passed away at 5:10 p.m./>Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006/>, at Heritage Manor. He was 91, a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Baton Rouge/>/>. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Miles Walsh, celebrant. Interment inGreenoaks/>
Memorial Park/>/>. He is survived by two sons, Linas J. Sanchez Jr. and Darron J. Sanchez and wife Corine F. Sanchez; four grandchildren, Melanie Sanchez of Los Angeles, Dodie Cutrer of Watson, Jay Sanchez of Central, and Danny Sanchez and companion Carmalie Brignac of Prairieville; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Cutrer, Kaleb Cutrer, Aleah Sanchez, Alayna Sanchez and Anna Lee Sanchez; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Ulysse “Boo” Sanchez and Lois, Percy Sanchez and Doris, Fred Sanchez and Roselyn, and Gloria Sanchez; four sisters, Eunice Fairchild, Elsie Medine, Shirley Fremin and husband Wilfred, and Ann Hymel; numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Alonzo Sanchez; father and mother, Omar and Delia Sanchez; brother, T.J. Sanchez; sister, Ruby Holtrap; and brothers-in-law, Busty Hymel, Evans Medine, Charles Fairchild and Hanes Holtrop. He was a life member of Istrouma Council 2807 of Knights of Columbus and an avid bowler for 50 years in several leagues. He loved to fish and was an all-around sports fan who loved LSU fighting Tigers. Pallbearers will be Jay Sanchez, Danny Sanchez, Kyle Cutrer, Joey Matranga, Les Rivet and Nathan LaBauve. Honorary pallbearer is Kaleb Cutrer.
