Our Daddy, Jimmy R. Thrasher, passed away at the Baton Rouge General Hospital Sunday, July 22, 2018, at age 91. Daddy was born in Electra, Texas, August 13, 1926. His older brother, Jack, nicknamed him Utchey and it stuck throughout his life. He grew up in Henderson, TX, and has many friends and family living there. Daddy left behind three daughters, Donna “DeSue” Thrasher Kleinpeter, Kelly “Sambo” Thrasher McMahon-Goldstein and Terri “Terrific” Thrasher Kring. Sons (in Law) Greg Kleinpeter and Donald Kring along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Tom, Beth and Matt Kleinpeter, Damian, Ethan and Evelyn McMahon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie R. Thrasher. Never to back away from a challenge, Daddy retired from FMC at age 57 and used his entire life savings to start his own successful business, Thraco, Inc. during the horrible 80s recession. Everyone who knew Daddy would say he was a character. Someone you wouldn’t forget. A friend wrote, “Jimmy lived life on his own terms. I enjoyed my visits with him; even when he invited me for dinner, then had everything ready for me to cook once I got there.” You just couldn’t help but love him. We will miss him terribly. He was sharp and quick witted. He loved his girls. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 30, from 6 pm to 9 pm at his home in Baton Rouge; 913 Sundance Dr., Baton Rouge, LA. Daddy would not want any flowers or gifts. He would say, “save your money.”
