A native of Honolulu, HI and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, LA, Emily passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the age of 48.  Emily graduated from Central High School and received a Bachelor’s of Art degree from LSU.  Since the early 90’s, Emily was an active and very influential member of the local artist community.  Her original handmade jewelry gained her much acclaim and her work organizing local artists for community events was one of her true joys.   Emily’s passion for art was matched by her compassion for homeless animals.  This spring, she was admitted to the Louisiana Crafts Guild under the pseudonym Emily Annabelle Koro, with Annabelle and Koro being the names of two of her “rescue dogs”. Emily is survived by her parents, Philip and Dabney Holt of Ridgeland, MS; brother Matthew Holt of Baton Rouge; step brothers, Logan Russell of Madison, MS, Mitchell Russell of Asheville, NC and Christopher Russell of Albuquerque, NM; and boyfriend, Danny Ricaud of Baton Rouge.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Libby Holt. Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church (205 North 4th St, Baton Rouge, LA 70801) from 12:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to ARNO, at www.animalrescueleagueneworleans.org.  Special thanks go to the Neurosurgery Department of Our Lady of the Lake and the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.
