2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away: behold, all things have become new.” Claire Adele Bergeron became new again today as she died December 27, 2018 here on earth to join her loving parents and brother John Eugene in heaven. She was born June 25th, 1940, in Baton Rouge Louisiana to Archangel Marie Vavasseur Bergeron and Clarence Leo Bergeron, the third of seven children. She is survived by her sisters Carolyn Rose Sumrall, Deanna Marie Monteleone, Janelle Louise Shell (Wayne) and brothers Ronald Joseph and Michael Paul (Phyllis), along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews beloved by all as the matriarch of multiple generations of the Bergeron Family. She attended St. Joseph’s Academy and had a long professional career as a dental assistant. After retiring from that profession, she followed her heart’s calling and became a Nanny to many children through the years. She shared the same love with them that she shared with all the members of her own family. In addition to her dedication to family, her Catholic faith was evident in her service to others as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan with St. George Parish. She was always ready and willing to fill in for any Mass. Claire also served on many church committees, doing whatever was needed or was asked of her. St. George Church was her second home and all her friends there were her family. Friends and family will be received at St. George Catholic Church, Saturday January 5th, 2019, 9:30am until a mass of Christian burial at 11:30am. celebrated by Fr. Michael Schatzle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. For those wishing to make a charitable contribution, please do so to Maddie’s Footprints in the name of Braxton Bergeron.
