Beatrice Ann King Albarado (“Boots”/”Bea”), a native of Saint Gabriel and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the age of 83.  Bea retired from the Borden Milk Company with 26 years of service.  She was a loving mother, granny, sister, cousin, and friend to many.  A kind and loving person, she was a gentle soul with a giving heart to those in need.  Bea enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, for whom she happily developed a new set of “grandparenting” rules which allowed her to spoil them in her own special way.  Bea was very active in her parish communities at St. Charles Borromeo and later at St. Gerard Majella as well as at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and David Kirshner of Baton Rouge and Pam and Perry Johnson, of Pace, FL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Cary Albarado of Baton Rouge and David and Monique Albarado of Thibodaux; six grandchildren, Nathan and Michael Kirshner, Amanda Webre Gilbert, Amber Albarado, and Krystal and Karly Johnson; and sisters, Gladys Gilmore, Inez Tircuit, Patricia Garcia, and Ruth Landry; and brother, Charles King. Bea is preceded in death by her parents, Hernilda Sholar King and Murphy King; brother, Murphy George King; and sister, Mary Matson. Pallbearers will be Claude Matherne, Doc Sholar, Neil Tircuit, Keith Gilmore, Paul Albarado, and Keith Hall, with honorary pallbearer, Warren LeBlanc. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a Scripture Service officiated by Fr. Henry Gautreau at 6:30 pm followed by the Rosary.  Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church (3625 Highway 75, Saint Gabriel, LA 70076) from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am celebrated by Fr. Charlie Landry. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beatrice’s name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, www.svdpbr.org or P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, LA  70821.  We would like to thank our families, friends, Hospice of Baton Rouge, Dr. Jessie Gills and the staff of the LSU Healthcare Network in Metairie, along with the staff of Sunrise Senior Living at Siegen for their loving care, support, and prayers during her illness.
