A native of White Castle and resident of Baton Rouge, Marilyn Ann “Noonie” Barbier passed away at St. James Place on Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was 84 and a retired Juvenile Probation Officer with East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court. Visitation will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrated by Father Randy Cuevas. Burial will follow in White Castle Cemetery. Marilyn is survived by her nieces, Cecile “Cissy” Caballero and husband Dennis of Baton Rouge, Cindy Ann Ourso and Lori Ourso Babin both of Metairie; great-nieces and nephews, Cecile Caballero Webre and husband Gary of Baton Rouge, Kaye Caballero Templet and husband Martin of Baton Rouge, Paul J. Caballero and wife Penny of Harahan, John H. Ourso and wife Stephanie of The Woodlands, TX, Chad M. Ourso of Orlando, FL, Thomas Ross Babin and Philip O. Babin, both of Metairie; and also survived by numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Joseph and Cecile Mury Barbier; sisters, Elaine Barbier, and Marjory Barbier Ourso and husband E.J.; and nephews, Sidney J. Ourso and wife Rosalind, and Philip B. Ourso; and niece, Nancy B. Ourso. Marilyn’s family wishes to offer special thanks to her best friends Betsy Delahaye, Myriam “Jingle” Thibodeaux, and Beth Harris for their love and support during her illness. Marilyn was a member and usher at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Noonie loved to go to “The Island” which was her camp on Grand Isle and enjoyed fishing and walking on the beach with her family and friends. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capitol Area, 3772 North Blvd, Baton Rouge 70806.
