Julia Suzanne Woolery Dunigan went to her eternal reward on Friday, June 1, 2018

after years of medical problems. She was 77 years old, and was born in Terrytown, NY to Richard and Louise Woolery. She grew up in Huntington Woods, MI. She is survived by her husband Edward P. Dunigan and two sons, Patrick James and wife Denise of Madison, MS. and Michael John and wife Shea of San Francisco, CA. She had four grandchildren, Lauren, San Francisco, and Julia, Sarah and Virginia of Madison. She is also survived by a brother, Edward R. Woolery of San Diego, CA. Judie earned her B.S. degree from Wayne State U., Detroit, MI, her M.S. degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and her Education Specialist Degree in Reading from LSU. She loved teaching children and taught for 30 years at Northwestern Elementary, Bellingrath Hills, and Wildwood in EBRP. She was the winner of many teaching awards including the Educator of Distinction Award from the District and State PTA Association, in 1994. She was a Supervisor of Student Teachers for LSU. She served on numerous committees and was a Past-President of the Campus Club of LSU. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling in the US and abroad. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church from 10:30 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am  Inurnment will follow at St. George Catholic Church Cemetery and Mausoleum. The family wishes to thank the many kind people for their prayers during her illness, especially Rev. Jerry Phillips, Chaplain at St. James Place and the many wonderful people of OLOL Hospital, St. James Place, and The Hospice of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Food Bank of Baton Rouge or a charity of your choice.
