A man who loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Comite Church of Christ, Al Danny Brown, age 70, passed away Wednesday April 25, 2018. He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. A graduate of Istrouma High Class of 1965 and LSU graduate of 1969 Majoring in Journalism/Mass Communications with a minor in political science and history. In his early career he was a reporter for Baton Rouge State Times, photographer for The Morning Advocate and worked with La Department of Transportation and Development as a communications specialist. He late retired from Louisiana Dept. of Revenue in 2005. Danny was a man of many hobbies. An avid metal detector, discovering many relics of history. He was also a freelance journalist and photographer and was the author of two published books; “Shooting the Pistol” written around Danny’s love for Pete Maravich and also a book of history titled “Lives That Will Never Rust”. He is survived by his wife; Cheryl Cannon Brown, two nephews; Yancy Brown and his wife Christy of Grovetown, Ga. and Mike Brown of Blythe, Ga., niece; Tracy Brown Michelle’ and her husband Frank of Gonzales, La., great nieces; Ashley, Amber and Lori, great nephews; Anthony and Dominick, and great great nephews and nieces; Timothy, Thomas, Helen and Titus; William and Henry; Hailey, Peyton and Brantley. He was preceded in death by his parents; John C. “Pete” Brown Sr. and Anna Mae Van Osdell Brown; and Brother John C. “JC” Brown Jr. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral East 11000 Florida Blvd. on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with Funeral Services following at 1:00 pm officiated by Bro. Will Tramel. Burial will follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary, La. Pallbearers will be; David Iverson, Randal Bum’s, Jake Donachricha, Jack Shaffer and Glen Evans. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Yancy Brown, Mike Brown, Anthony Michelle’ and Dominick Michelle’. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to: Comite Church of Christ or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
